First Baptist Church places a high priority on ministry to youth and children. In fact, we have an Associate Pastor for Youth and Children whose responsibility it is to oversee this area of our church life. We offer a dynamic Sunday School for kids of all ages and our summer VBS program is one of the largest in the area (around 175 kids each year). During worship we feature a special program downstairs for children from K through 5th grade, with puppets, skits and stories. Our KidSing choir also sings regularly in our Sunday worship. We will begin a weekday AWANA ministry in September 2007. Our philosophy with our kids is always “persons ahead of programs”, i.e., we cherish the importance of one-one relationships.
