Dr. David Wesley Reid
Senior Pastor

Dr. Reid has served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church for 29 years. Prior to his call to Reading he was the Pastor of the Hill Memorial Baptist Church in Boston. He is a graduate of Eastern University in St. David's, Pennsylvania, Boston University School of Theology and Andover-Newton Theological School. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Psychology and Clinical Studies. He writes frequently for The Clergy Journal, a publication of Logos Books and has published more than twenty sermons and fourteen articles in a variety of professional journals and magazines. Pastor Reid is married to the former Nancy Lindgren, a graphic designer. He has three grown sons and one grandson. |

Dana J. Smith
Associate Pastor

Dana is the newest staff member at First Baptist, having begun his service here in June of 2007. Before coming to Reading, he served as the Chaplain at Lexington Christian Academy in Lexington, MA and as the Director of Youth and Christian Education at the Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Malvern, PA. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. One of his passions is participating in the global mission of the church, having co-led or led missions trips to Holland, Guatemala, Haiti, France, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Other interests include sports (he still actively plays soccer and helps out with the Christian Athletes Hockey Camps when he can), theatre, and film (he's on an episode of a tv show that still runs nationally. Your mission: name that show!). Next to knowing his Lord and Savior, his greatest joy is being married to his wife, Kristen (M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell), and being a dad to his two boys, Micah and Caleb. Soli Deo Gloria!

Mrs. Betty MacLean
Director of Senior Adult Ministries and Newcomer Ministries

Betty has served on the staff of First Baptist since 2000 when she was hired as the church's first Director of Senior Adult Ministries. In the fall of 2004, she augmented her work responsibilities by assuming the dual role of Director of Newcomer Ministries. Betty is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College where she earned her degree in education, with a minor in psychology. She also has her masters degree in Moderate Special Needs. She has been actively involved in ministry throughout her adult life. She is also a mother of 5 grown children and has served the Lord as a foster mother for seven children, two of whom she adopted as her own.

Mrs. Kellie Tropeano
Director of Music

Kellie Tropeano has been our Director of Music since 2003. Her prior church experience was at Andover Baptist Church in Andover, where she directed the adult choir and played the organ for the services. She graduated from Gordon College in 1995 with a degree in Music Education and went on for her Master's Degree at Lesley University. She was the Choral Director at Danvers High School until 2000. For the past 12 years, she has directed and accompanied community theater productions on the North Shore. Currently, she owns two-by-two Productions, a children's theater she co-directs with her sister. Kellie lives in Wakefield, with her husband Dan and their three children. |
