Serving our Neighbors and Church Community

Community Garden at FBC

Started in the Spring of 2018, the community garden at FBC is a space where people can come together and grow their own food. These garden spaces function as outdoor engagement centers that can improve people’s access to fresh food, physical activity and connections with their neighbors. Ryan Monahan designed and built these garden spaces for us as part of his Eagle Scout project. We have fifteen, 5’ by 10’ and two, 5’ by 5’ raised garden beds.

As God has blessed us, we bless our community with access to these gardens.

Neighborhood Food Pantry

We see our neighbors struggling daily with the cost of food. Many come to the church hungry asking for help. We don’t always have the resources available to help and having a food pantry inside our building is a security issue because of our preschool. But our loving, kind God has given us an idea to help our neighbors while also relying on our other neighbors to help and contribute. Our congregation raised $500 to buy a food pantry to put outside in front of our church. We think of it as a neighborhood “mini pantry” where those that have will give and those that are in need may freely take.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16

Card and Tract Ministry

Card Ministry – Serve by Praying and Sending a Card

A kind word, encouragement, prayers for strength and healing. Have you ever received a card from someone who cared and thought about praying for you and wrote to you with words of encouragement? It’s like a special hug from God. We have cards in our Card Ministry area in the back of the Sanctuary for those on our prayer list or maybe for someone God has put on your heart. Take a few minutes to fill one out and we will mail it for you!

Gospel Tract Ministry - Care by Reaching People with the Message of Everlasting Life!

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Mark 16:15

But that’s not always easy and it’s hard to know what to say and where to start. Gospel tracts are a wonderful and easy way to get the gospel message into the hands of the lost. Give them to family, strangers, the checkout person, leave one with a generous tip at a restaurant, or place one in a greeting card. Pick some up at our Gospel Track Ministry area in the back of the Sanctuary and share the good news of our Savior.
